Mauro Biello says that he is extremely happy

Montréal Impact’s assistant coach Mauro Biello says that he is extremely happy with the latest injury situation at the club.

It looked like the squad, which has been decimated by injuries at the start of the season, may be forced to suffer at the hands of Alajuelense and other upcoming opponents. However, Montréal have got a number of players back from the sidelines and in for a starting spot starting from this weekend.Biello was speaking to the press ahead of the CONCACAF Champions League match againstAlajuelense. This semi-final will see Montréal try to maintain their good run of form in this competition.

After having managed a 2-0 win in the first leg, the Canadian club is the favourite to progress to the next round. However, a run of just one win since the start of the season is not really ideal for the club to be aiming at a final spot. Montréal are yet to win any league match this campaign. They have taken only two points from the opening three matches and upcoming matches against teams like San Jose Earthquakes and Houston Dynamo certainly do not spell much points for the team in the league. Only the players sidelined with long-term injury problems will not be available in the short term.

“We had a lot of injuries, but I think everyone has recovered. If we’d had to play a game this weekend, it would have been difficult to manage the roster. We had this chance to get everyone back healthy and prepare for this game,” said assistant coach Biello. “I strained my quad a couple of days before the game against Alajuelense. This is very important. This Champions League series is very important. I took time off. I don’t know if I’m going to play,” said Duka.
