THREE MLS SUPERDRAFT PLAYERS IN US U-20 PREPARATORY SQUAD

Ahead of next month’s CONCACAF Under-20 Championship in Costa Rica, which serves as the continent’s qualifying tournament for this summer’s under-20 World Cup, the United States Under-20 National team has called up 23 players to the team’s preparatory camp at SubHub Center in Carson, California.

Mauro Biello says that he is extremely happy

Montréal Impact’s assistant coach Mauro Biello says that he is extremely happy with the latest injury situation at the club.

It looked like the squad, which has been decimated by injuries at the start of the season, may be forced to suffer at the hands of Alajuelense and other upcoming opponents. However, Montréal have got a number of players back from the sidelines and in for a starting spot starting from this weekend.Biello was speaking to the press ahead of the CONCACAF Champions League match againstAlajuelense. This semi-final will see Montréal try to maintain their good run of form in this competition.

After having managed a 2-0 win in the first leg, the Canadian club is the favourite to progress to the next round. However, a run of just one win since the start of the season is not really ideal for the club to be aiming at a final spot. Montréal are yet to win any league match this campaign. They have taken only two points from the opening three matches and upcoming matches against teams like San Jose Earthquakes and Houston Dynamo certainly do not spell much points for the team in the league. Only the players sidelined with long-term injury problems will not be available in the short term.Continue Reading

KREIS BACKS RSL

Real Salt Lake will be taking on LA Galaxy the second leg of the conference semifinal. Ahead of the match, Real Salt Lake manager Jason Kreis has said that LA Galaxy are in a great position despite the home advantage of his team. Kreis has said that LA Galaxy are a team who play extremely well on the counter-attack. He has also said that Bruce Arena makes his team defensively well-organised. Due to the 1-0 advantage they bring into the match, this match will be perfect for LA Galaxy according to Kreis.

Real Salt Lake have been on an excellent season so far, but they need to get past this difficult tie in order to show for their efforts this season. Sean Franklin scored the only goal of the game in the first leg. LA Galaxy are expected to put men behind the ball in the hope of protecting their advantage. In recent times, this has been a major source of problem for Real Salt Lake, as they have struggled to break down opposition with this tactical attitude. Captain Kyle Beckerman is staying positive because they have done well in order to reach this level.

He is confident of progress to the finals by beating LA Galaxy.

“I think that this game, unfortunately, plays to the Galaxy’s strength. We understand that we are in a dangerous position. But, so what?” It’s what they do well. They defend very well, and they counter very well,” said Kreis. “No reason to be down. We also played the whole season to be in a situation to get into a position where you have the second leg at your place. It’s all there for us,” said RSL captain Kyle Beckerman to the reporters.

Real Salt Lake have not been involved in league matches since the last week of October.
